The 7th annual "Big Ace" event was cordially held on November 18. This event focused on crucial issues such as local revitalization, children's education, rights of the disabled, gender equality, and caretaking for the elderly, aiming to scout for and honor young individuals who are bold in challenging the status quo, innovating sustainable reforms, and making the world a better place.

After an intense six-month contest, 20 groups of young changemakers stood out from nearly 200 competitors, demonstrating their passion for social affairs and limitless potential  to strive for betterment of Taiwan’s society. The event, hosted by the 2022 Big Ace selectee and gender equality advocate “FuFuKnows”, further exemplified  that this grand occasion was a diverse stage co-created by all big aces.

Since its launch  in 2015, the Big Ace program has successfully held seven editions, uncovering 150 outstanding youths from all over Taiwan. These individuals tirelessly work on issues that they care about, ranging from local revitalization, children's education, the rights of the disabled, gender equality, international student employment, to advocating welfare for the elderly.

This year's ceremony, held at the Social Innovation Lab, showcased awards and stage designs reflecting the core philosophy of the event: "Success should not have just one appearance, and achievement should not be stereotyped or defined." Each awardee shone brightly in their own unique way, marking excellence in their respective fields.

“The Big Aces is an intriguing group of people who strive hard in their own specialized fields. Throughout the contest, there has been intense debates and discussions, but the common trait among this year's candidates is their creative imagination and commitment to ongoing efforts [to change the society]. This is the most critical trait of being a Big Ace.” Mario Yang, the co-founder and content chief of TNL Mediagene and also the jury's chairperson, shared with a touch of emotion.

Moreover, this year's event broke two special records, with the15-year-old Ted Lu becoming the youngest-ever Big Ace, while Isaac Yong from Malaysia top being the  first ever foreign national to be awarded . These young individuals' achievements demonstrate the inclusivity and diversity of the Big Ace program.

The stories and accomplishments of the Big Aces inspire each of us, proving that regardless of age or background, everyone has the potential to change society and impact the world. This event not only honored those who are brave, innovative youths but also unleashed the boundless possibilities of the Big Aces.
